Question 1

Is it free to sign up?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Creating an account, posting jobs, and submitting bids are all free. HaulMatch only earns when a job is awarded — see our pricing page for the full breakdown.

Question 2

How do I know the drivers are legitimate?

Accepted Answer

Drivers may bid while verification is pending, and each bid shows the current status. A verified badge means HaulMatch has reviewed submitted licence, vehicle registration and insurance documents. It is not a guarantee of performance or cover for a particular loss, so review the carrier and confirm insurance before award.

Question 3

How do payments work?

Accepted Answer

Payment runs through HaulMatch's milestone system and a third-party payment provider. The shipper funds the job after accepting a bid, the amount is allocated to that job, and it is released or refunded through the completion and dispute process. We don't pass card details between users.

Question 4

What are the fees?

Accepted Answer

Shippers pay a 2% award fee on the accepted quote, with a $5.50 minimum and $300 maximum. Drivers pay 9% standalone, with bundle discounts available. All platform fees include GST, there is no separate card surcharge, and the pricing page calculates both sides before booking.

Question 5

How long do driver withdrawals take?

Accepted Answer

Stripe may still be clearing the customer's payment after it has been charged and the milestone is released. HaulMatch retries queued withdrawals automatically. Once Stripe makes the funds eligible, an Instant Payout usually arrives within 30 minutes; otherwise Stripe provides a standard payout estimate.

Question 6

Can I cancel a job after it's been awarded?

Accepted Answer

Open jobs can be withdrawn without a HaulMatch cancellation fee. After award but before payment is secured, either side can release the booking free of charge and the job returns to the marketplace — and if payment isn't secured within 48 hours, we release it automatically. Once payment is secured, use the support flow because a transport contract has formed and the carrier may have reasonable evidenced costs. See the Cancellations and Refunds Policy.

Question 7

What happens if there's a dispute?

Accepted Answer

Open a support ticket from your dashboard. Our staff review the messages, photos, and timeline for the job, and work with both sides to reach a resolution before any milestone payment is released.

Question 8

Which areas does HaulMatch cover?

Accepted Answer

HaulMatch covers all Australian states and territories. Most activity is on the major east-coast lanes (NSW–VIC–QLD), but jobs in WA, SA, NT, and TAS are welcome too.

Question 9

Do I need an ABN to register as a driver?

Accepted Answer

No. You can create a driver account without an ABN. If your carrier business is registered for GST, add a valid ABN in your profile and verify it with the Australian Business Register before GST is added to your bids.

Question 10

How do I contact support?

Accepted Answer

Email support@haulmatch.com.au, or raise a ticket from inside your dashboard for anything tied to a specific job. We aim to reply within one business day.
