Driver payouts and withdrawal times

Instant Payout can make the final bank transfer fast, but it does not skip milestone release or Stripe's customer-payment settlement. Here is what happens before money reaches your bank.

How driver payouts work

1
The shipper releases payment
After delivery is confirmed, the secured milestone is released to your HaulMatch wallet. A dispute can delay this step.
2
Stripe clears the customer payment
The customer can be charged successfully while Stripe still classifies the platform funds as pending. Pending funds cannot be transferred to your connected Stripe account yet.
3
HaulMatch starts the payout
When Stripe makes the funds available, HaulMatch transfers them to your connected account and prefers Instant Payout when the balance and bank account are eligible.
4
Stripe pays your bank
An eligible Instant Payout usually arrives within 30 minutes after it starts. If Instant is unavailable, HaulMatch creates a standard payout and shows Stripe's estimated arrival.

What “Instant Payout” means

HaulMatch prefers Instant Payout once Stripe can transfer the money and confirms that your payout destination is eligible. From that point, it usually arrives within 30 minutes. It is not a promise that unsettled customer funds will be advanced by HaulMatch.

Stripe controls balance availability and payout eligibility. See Stripe's Instant Payout documentation.

What each withdrawal status means

Processing — funds clearing

Stripe has not made the customer payment transferable yet. HaulMatch shows the expected retry time and retries automatically.

Instant payout started

Stripe created an Instant Payout. Eligible payouts usually reach the connected account within 30 minutes.

Standard payout started

The bank or balance was not Instant eligible. Use Stripe's estimated arrival shown in your wallet.

Paid

Stripe sent the payout and confirmed it with HaulMatch.

Failed

Stripe rejected the payout. HaulMatch either retries safely or returns the amount to your wallet, depending on whether money already moved.

If your withdrawal is queued

Your wallet shows Stripe's expected clearing time. HaulMatch checks due withdrawals every five minutes and can retry sooner when Stripe reports that funds became available. Do not submit the withdrawal again; no further action is required unless the status asks you to update your payout details.

Payout timing FAQ

Does Instant Payout mean payment arrives immediately after delivery?

No. Instant describes the bank payout after Stripe makes the customer payment eligible. Stripe settlement, milestone release, disputes and account checks can happen first.

Why can a customer be charged while my withdrawal is waiting?

A successful card charge and settlement are separate events. Stripe can confirm the customer charge while holding the platform funds as pending until their availability date.

Do I need to submit a queued withdrawal again?

No. HaulMatch checks due withdrawals every five minutes and also responds when Stripe reports that balance is available. Submitting it again could create confusion.

Is every withdrawal eligible for Instant Payout?

No. Stripe decides eligibility using the available balance, connected bank or debit account, currency, account status and provider limits. HaulMatch falls back to standard payout when Instant is unavailable.
